Things Making Me Smile This Week

Hello everyone! To brighten up this Monday, I thought I would share some of the things that have made me smile in the past week. Feel free to comment below and let me know some things that are making you happy! ūüôā

  • Finishing Up a Good Book- ¬†Yes, it took me WAY too long to read this tiny book. I have been busy starting my new job and usually only read a few pages or a chapter before going to bed some nights. However, I can say that I LOVED this book. It is full of simple tips on how to increase your happiness on a daily basis. I definitely recommend it!

  • ¬†Having a Workout Partner- After joining Lifetime Fitness in January, my mom and I have been working out together a lot more and I couldn’t be happier! It is so much more fun and motivating to workout¬†with someone else. We have been enjoying our fair share of yoga classes lately. Also, I am so proud of my mom for sticking with her fitness goals this year so far, keep it up mom!

  • Spending Time With This Guy- While Nick and I are only an hour apart when he is at school, we don’t see each other during the week and it had been a couple weeks since we spent time together. I was one happy girl when he came home Friday for the weekend. We enjoyed dinner at a new brewery on Friday night with my parents and spent time with his family on Saturday.¬†
  • New Beauty Products- I made a trip to Ulta on Friday and scored some amazing new beauty products, woo hoo! I have been searching for a good dry shampoo as I admittedly have greasy hair (especially if it’s been over 24 hours since I washed it). This Living Proof dry shampoo is the answer to my hair prayers. I used it this weekend and went over 48 hours without washing my hair! Also, I received a mascara sample with my purchase (brand:it- SUPERHERO) and love that as well. It lengthens my lashes and lasts all day!

  • Vacation Count-Down- I am so excited for our family vacation to Arizona in just 26 days to visit my sister and brother-in-law! Nothing like some relaxing time with my family in warm, sunny weather no less! Hurry up March 25th!
  • New Spring Clothes- With a vacation in my near future and Spring around the corner (hopefully), I have been keeping my eyes open for some cute new clothes. When I was at Target the other day with my mom, I found some patterned, trendy clothes including a dress, kimono, and wider-leg pants (sometimes I am in awe of Target’s clothing section) all for under $25 each. I am ready for some heat! FYI the beach hat pictured below was found in the dollar section for $5!¬†
  • ¬†Fuller House Release- I was super pumped when I found out that the Full House cast was having a reunion and have been waiting for the end of February when it was set to be released and it is finally here! I am only two episodes in, but certainly feel nostalgic watching it. My sister and I used to watch reruns after school nearly every day and as soon as the episode was over my dad would get home from work. Brings back so many memories and I love the references to the original episodes.Fuller House
  • Adorable Music Videos- I am a total country music lover especially modern country (cue Today’s Country’s Hits Pandora). When I heard “Die a Happy Man” by Thomas Rhett my heart melted. It is such a sweet song and he wrote it for his wife! As soon as I found out the music video was of him and his wife, I knew I needed to watch it ASAP. It was more adorable then I imagined it would be. So I will leave with you with that, feel free to replay as many times as you please (bye bye Monday blues!).¬†die a happy man.jpg

Have an amazing week!!!

Favorite Workout Apparel

Good morning everyone! With the holiday season quickly approaching, now is a good time to reset your fitness goals for the end of the year. Don’t wait for New Year’s resolutions to jumpstart your¬†active and healthy lifestyle! One way to stay motivated is cute, comfortable, and functional workout clothes. We are sharing some of our favorite workout outfits¬†today. Enjoy!

Meg’s Picks

This is one of my favorite workout outfits because it is so versatile! I love to wear it to yoga, pure barre, running, and I even wore it hiking when I visited Amanda in Arizona. The¬†top is super soft and the pattern is of the pants is so unique and cute. The brand is Calia (Carrie Underwood’s workout apparel brand) and she definitely succeeded in her goal of making workout clothes that can be worn out and about as well. For example,¬†Amanda and I headed to breakfast¬†after this picture and I didn’t feel out of place like I sometimes do when running errands in workout clothes.

This picture was taken right before I took my 100th Pure Barre class. The pants are from Fabletics and are my go-to barre pants. They are not only stretchy and match almost anything, but I love the mesh cut-outs that give them some flair. I often wear pair a graphic barre-related tank top with these pants (I have four-whoops!) and buy them right from my Pure Barre studio. While this specific tank is no longer available, you can find similar tanks online. So cute for LTB-ing!

I love workout tops that have fun cutouts or strappy backs. This one from Lululemon is my favorite! It has a built in bra, which makes it perfect for a low impact class like barre or Pilates. They no longer sell the one I have, but I am eyeing a super cute tank with a unique back for my Christmas list. My¬†leggings have a small animal print pattern, which makes them fun while they are still versatile to wear with any top. Finally, my high top Nike shoes are fun and so comfortable. They are my go to shoes when I’m on my way¬†to a workout class!

My next outfit is also one of my favorites for a barre class or a sweaty workout in the gym. The graphic tank from my Pure Barre studio is super soft and can be paired with a fun bra underneath. My leggings are from Fabletics. I love the color they bring to the outfit and they go with the many grey and black tops I have.

We hope we’ve inspired you to add some cute and comfy workout clothes to your holiday shopping lists. Have a great week!

Fall Fashion

As fall is quickly approaching (hello Pumpkin Spice everything and football season!), we wanted to share some of our fall fashion favorites. Some of these pieces we wore last year and some we are looking forward to sporting in the upcoming months.

Meghan’s Picks

  • Booties– I bought a pair of suede booties last year (mine are more of a caramel color) and wore them countless times. They are a great alternative from the classic riding boot and can be dressed down with jeans, a long sleeve tee, and a scarf or dressed up with a tunic dress and necklace.

  • Green Military Vest– I love that army green is in the season! I am looking to purchase a military vest that I can wear in the warmer Fall months (most likely with jeans and my booties). I love throwing a vest on over a plain shirt to add some flair.

  • Plaid Scarf– I am obsessed with scarfs no matter what season, but Fall is definitely my favorite time to wear scarfs to accessorize an outfit. I purchased this scarf last season and wore it with boots, jeans, and neutral colored sweaters. Plus it’s plaid, bonus! I would also love to find a plaid blanket scarf for the colder months.

Amanda’s Picks:

  • Lace Up Heels – I’m loving the lace up heels and sandals that are trending right now. They are the perfect shoe to transition from summer to fall and there’s so many cute variations out there. I have my eye on a couple pairs, but my go to is always black since they can go with everything.

  • Plaid Top – I’m also digging plaid, and I just ordered a plaid button up shirt to wear with jeans and booties. It’s going to be really hot in Arizona for a few more months, but this shirt is light enough to wear in the heat but still looks perfect for Fall.

  • Gold Pendant Necklaces – These necklaces are so fun and easy to layer and mix and match. I just ordered a bar pendant necklace from Nordstrom and look forward to wearing it with some of my new Fall tops.
