Arizona Vacay

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I am feeling refreshed and relaxed after a week in Arizona with Mike, my parents, and Amanda and Kevin. The weather was gorgeous (80-90’s and sunny everyday) and nothing beats time spent with my favorite people!

We spent a lot of time during the day outside relaxing by the pool. Unfortunately Amanda and Kevin had to work most of the week, but we met up with them for dinners after work. They took the day off Friday and we hiked Camelback Mountain. It was a tougher hike but the view at the top was definitely rewarding!

We were foruntate enough to see Amanda and Kevin’s new house, it is beautiful! I can’t wait to stay there and see all the memories that are made within in. Congratulations to Amanda and Kevin!

I’m already missing vacation and my sister and Kevin, but have some exciting events coming up that are keeping the post-vacation blues at bay. I hope everyone has a great week and enjoys this Spring weather!

Weekend with Mom

I can’t believe it is already Monday. The weekend flew by! My Mom was in town visiting Kevin and I this weekend from Michigan. We had the best time together and it was sad to drop her off at the airport yesterday after a fun weekend together. We are already counting down the days until we visit for Christmas!

Thursday my Mom arrived and we got our nails done and made dinner at our place. Friday we hit the gym and did a killer upper body workout before a relaxing spa day at my favorite spa in Scottsdale, The Camelback Inn. We enjoyed lunch with beautiful weather and lounged by the pool before getting massages.

After the spa we met up with Kevin for dinner outside on the patio at Chelsea’s Kitchen.

Saturday we did a lower body workout together. So much fun working out with my Mom and showing her some exercises! After the gym Kevin spoiled us with breakfast and we did some shopping. At night we watched the Michigan State game at Wasted Grain, the MSU bar in Scottsdale. It was not a good game, but we still had a lot of fun watching it together.

I am so thankful my Mom came to visit! I’m excited to see her in Michigan soon. Have a great week everyone!

Finally reunited

Happy Monday! We are all smiles today as we spent the weekend together and are enjoying our time together today before Amanda and Kevin fly back to Arizona this evening. We hope you all had a great weekend too!

Yesterday, we enjoyed a barbecue with Kevin’s parents, our parents, grandma (91 years old and going strong!), and aunt and uncle. It was a perfect day full of quality time together, yard games, and of course yummy food and drinks. We were also able to celebrate our parent’s 30th anniversary which is tomorrow. We are so lucky to have parents who have such a strong relationship and have shown us how to love. Congratulations to 30 years together Mom and Dad! Here’s to many more!

We started off our Monday with an early morning Barbell Strength class at Meg’s gym. We definitely felt the burn as we worked out each body part individually using a barbell loaded with weights. Of course we had to reward ourselves with a protein smoothie afterwards.

We are cherishing each moment together before Amanda has to take off later. The weekend went by way too fast, but as always it was SO good to spend time together! Have a great week everyone!

Ode to Dad

Hello everyone! Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there, you are much appreciated!

While we were unable to celebrate in person on Father’s Day with our dad, we wanted to dedicate this post to him. Our dad is always happy, full of energy, one of the most loving and caring people we know. We have learned so many things from him including, but not limited too: be “stickler tough,” always follow your dreams, never give up, start strong and finish stronger, and make the most out of every day. He likes to celebrate each day even if there isn’t a special occasion.

Growing up, he never missed a dance recital or pom competition (he actually got pretty into them). And he coached many of our soccer and basketball teams. He is the best at motivational pep talks and never fails to deliver one before we have tests, interviews, or big events. He enjoys taking our family on vacations and spending quality time with family and friends. He also is very active and enjoys running and golfing in his free time.

We are so lucky to call him our dad! He truly is one of a kind and we are thankful for all that he does for us. We love you so much dad! Hope you had a relaxing weekend!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Monday! We hope everyone had a lovely weekend and had time to thank the special mothers in their lives. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there!

We wanted to dedicate today’s post to our amazing mom. To us, she is not only a mother and role model, but she is our best friend. We love to spend time with her and know that she is always there for us no matter what. She helps us celebrate our accomplishments and is there for us through our disappointments. Our mom works as a preschool teacher and makes a positive impact on her students every day. We love to hear funny stories about what her students say and how she forms special bonds with each one. She has always puts others before herself in both her professional and personal life and will drop everything to help her family and friends. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, attending Michigan State games, and spending time with family. Our mom is very crafty and makes the most amazing baked good (cookies are her specialty). The list of her amazing qualities goes on and on! We are so lucky to have such a selfless, hard-working, and loving mother.

Thank you mom for everything you do for us! We hope you had a relaxing, enjoyable weekend. We love you so much!

Family Vacation

We hope you had a great weekend! We had a hard goodbye on Saturday after a great week together in Scottsdale. It’s crazy how fast time together goes by. We did a lot of fun things together and really enjoyed every second.

On Friday, our first day together, we spent some time at the resort and the Michiganders soaked up some sun before heading to dinner at Chelsea’s Kitchen. With the time change, we called it an early night and had plans for a mini trip on Saturday.

On Saturday we drove south, outside of Tucson for a spa day. We rented a cabana by the pool and the girls were treated to massages. We enjoyed the rest of the day by the pool before heading to a beautiful dinner outside watching the sunset and listening to live music.

On Sunday, we celebrated Easter with a morning hike while sporting some festive bunny ears. The fellow hikers on the trail got quite the kick out of our bunny ears! It was a beautiful morning for a hike and we enjoyed the workout. After hiking we had brunch and attended a spring training baseball game. We then enjoyed a homemade Easter dinner at Amanda and Kevin’s place.

The rest of the week was full of relaxation and family time. We were also able to try some new workout classes throughout the week including aerial yoga and Orangetheory Fitness (stay tuned for future posts on these workouts!).

The week flew by end before we knew it, it was Friday, our last night together. The girls got blowouts at DryBar before meeting the boys for dinner. We had a fabulous dinner at The Henry as a family. Nothing beats family time!

While we had an amazing week together, saying goodbye never gets easier especially since we may not see each other again until August. Thank goodness for FaceTime! We hope everyone has a great week!

Family Weekend

This weekend my in-laws were in town. Kevin and I were excited to show them around our new home! They arrived on Friday and we went to one of our favorite spots for dinner in Phoenix.

Saturday morning we hiked Camelback Mountain and enjoyed the beautiful weather! I always love seeing other people’s reactions once you reach the top. It still blows my mind how great the view is.

Later in the day we went to a local Michigan State bar to cheer on our Spartans. What a game! So glad we pulled out a win.

On Sunday my mother-in-law and I papered ourselves at the spa. We had a great breakfast at the Camelback Inn followed by an hour massage. If we weren’t relaxed enough, next we headed to the nail salon for some more pampering!

Tonight we are making a healthy bean burrito recipe at our apartment. I’ll share it soon! We are excited to spend more time with Kevin’s parents and someone may have a birthday to celebrate this week! 😉 I’m thinking 26 is going to be a good year. I hope everyone has a great week.
