New Beauty Products

Happy Monday friends!

The countdown is officially on as I will be in Arizona in a week! I am excited for sun, warm, weather and some quality time with my favorite people! In the meantime, I wanted to share some of my new favorite beauty products that I discovered at Sephora (that place is so dangerous!). Without further ado, here they are…

De-slick Makeup Setting Spray: This Urban Decay makeup setting spray is a life-saver! You simply mist it on your face after finishing your makeup and it prevents makeup from smudging and fading. There are various kinds you can buy depending on your skin type. I chose de-slick which provides oil control as well since my face tends to get shiny throughout the day. I have definitely noticed a difference since using it!

Triple Sec 3-in-1 Hair Product: Okay so this isn’t a new product for me, but I wanted to share it with you guys because I’m obsessed! When I got my first blowout in Arizona with my sister at DryBar, they used this on my hair after curling it. It provides texture, volume, and refreshes your hair all at once. Bonus: it also smells amazing!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: I have been struggling to find a mascara that I love for a while. A coworker recommended this one to me and I love it! It definitely makes my lashes look fuller and longer. It also stays on very well throughout the day and doesn’t bother my eyes (I wear contacts).

Becca Cheek Highlighter: I have been interested in purchasing a cheek highlighter, but was unsure of what kind to get. The sales lady at Sephora recommended the Becca crème highlighter to me, so I decided to try it out. I found out a few of my friends also use this brand and love it! It comes in multiple colors to blend with your skin tone and is easy to apply. I actually put my blush on first then put the highlighter over it making sure to blend it well. While I don’t wear it everyday, I like the shimmer it adds to highlight my cheek bones.

I hope you guys have a great week!

Beauty Products We Are Loving

Hi! We hope you are having a good Monday. We both had relaxing weekends and are getting back into the swing of busy weeks. We had the chance to catch up on the phone yesterday and were chatting about our favorite beauty products so we decided to share them with you!

  1. I just made a trip to Sephora to restock my makeup, and this contour and highlighting kit by Too Faced was on my must have list. Contouring is popular among celebrities, and I have always wanted to give it a try but have been timid to try it. It turns out it is super  easy with this kit that comes with four shades a contour brush as well!

2. I restocked my concealer and foundation with radiance awakening foundation by Yves Saint Laurent and Born This Way concealer by Too Faced. Both go on feeling super light and keep my skin from looking too oily throughout the day.

3. I was about to leave Sephora when the makeup artist showed me Hangover Rx by Too Faced. It’s a nourishing cream primer that makes your skin feel instantly hydrated. I use it under my eyes to keep my skin hydrated and awake.

  1. Since I have naturally greasy hair, I have been in search of the best dry shampoo and have tried multiple brands. When I splurged a little bit and bought this Living Proof Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo, I never looked back! It gives my hair a fresh look that lasts longer than a few hours. I have been working on extending my shampoos as I usually have to wash my hair daily and this product definitely helps. I also like that it doesn’t leave a white residue on my hair and smells great!

2. Over the past couple years, I have been addicted to shellac nail polish and was getting my nails done in a salon every couple of weeks. Well I decided to give my nails (and bank account a break), but I need a polish that would last longer than a day especially working as a nurse. I love these Essie gel polishes! They have so many pretty colors and the polish has been lasting me 4-5 days even when working. I apply two coats of the color and then one coat of the top coat. They are a little pricier than normal polish, but worth it!

3. I first read about collagen on a blog I have been reading for years (shoutout to Peanut Butter Fingers!). Collagen is a protein-based powder that helps with skin elasticity as well as hair and nail health. I have been scooping a tablespoon into my coffee daily. After using it for a couple months, I haven noticed my hair and nails getting stronger as well as the cellulite on my legs becoming less visible. I buy mine at TJMaxx when they have it in stock, but they also have a variety of brands on Amazon.

Let us know what your new favorite beauty products are! We love to hear from you! Have a great week beauties!

Favorite Workout Apparel

Good morning everyone! With the holiday season quickly approaching, now is a good time to reset your fitness goals for the end of the year. Don’t wait for New Year’s resolutions to jumpstart your active and healthy lifestyle! One way to stay motivated is cute, comfortable, and functional workout clothes. We are sharing some of our favorite workout outfits today. Enjoy!

Meg’s Picks

This is one of my favorite workout outfits because it is so versatile! I love to wear it to yoga, pure barre, running, and I even wore it hiking when I visited Amanda in Arizona. The top is super soft and the pattern is of the pants is so unique and cute. The brand is Calia (Carrie Underwood’s workout apparel brand) and she definitely succeeded in her goal of making workout clothes that can be worn out and about as well. For example, Amanda and I headed to breakfast after this picture and I didn’t feel out of place like I sometimes do when running errands in workout clothes.

This picture was taken right before I took my 100th Pure Barre class. The pants are from Fabletics and are my go-to barre pants. They are not only stretchy and match almost anything, but I love the mesh cut-outs that give them some flair. I often wear pair a graphic barre-related tank top with these pants (I have four-whoops!) and buy them right from my Pure Barre studio. While this specific tank is no longer available, you can find similar tanks online. So cute for LTB-ing!

Amanda’s Picks

I love workout tops that have fun cutouts or strappy backs. This one from Lululemon is my favorite! It has a built in bra, which makes it perfect for a low impact class like barre or Pilates. They no longer sell the one I have, but I am eyeing a super cute tank with a unique back for my Christmas list. My leggings have a small animal print pattern, which makes them fun while they are still versatile to wear with any top. Finally, my high top Nike shoes are fun and so comfortable. They are my go to shoes when I’m on my way to a workout class!

My next outfit is also one of my favorites for a barre class or a sweaty workout in the gym. The graphic tank from my Pure Barre studio is super soft and can be paired with a fun bra underneath. My leggings are from Fabletics. I love the color they bring to the outfit and they go with the many grey and black tops I have.

We hope we’ve inspired you to add some cute and comfy workout clothes to your holiday shopping lists. Have a great week!

Fall Fashion

As fall is quickly approaching (hello Pumpkin Spice everything and football season!), we wanted to share some of our fall fashion favorites. Some of these pieces we wore last year and some we are looking forward to sporting in the upcoming months.

Meghan’s Picks

  • Booties– I bought a pair of suede booties last year (mine are more of a caramel color) and wore them countless times. They are a great alternative from the classic riding boot and can be dressed down with jeans, a long sleeve tee, and a scarf or dressed up with a tunic dress and necklace.

  • Green Military Vest– I love that army green is in the season! I am looking to purchase a military vest that I can wear in the warmer Fall months (most likely with jeans and my booties). I love throwing a vest on over a plain shirt to add some flair.

  • Plaid Scarf– I am obsessed with scarfs no matter what season, but Fall is definitely my favorite time to wear scarfs to accessorize an outfit. I purchased this scarf last season and wore it with boots, jeans, and neutral colored sweaters. Plus it’s plaid, bonus! I would also love to find a plaid blanket scarf for the colder months.

Amanda’s Picks:

  • Lace Up Heels – I’m loving the lace up heels and sandals that are trending right now. They are the perfect shoe to transition from summer to fall and there’s so many cute variations out there. I have my eye on a couple pairs, but my go to is always black since they can go with everything.

  • Plaid Top – I’m also digging plaid, and I just ordered a plaid button up shirt to wear with jeans and booties. It’s going to be really hot in Arizona for a few more months, but this shirt is light enough to wear in the heat but still looks perfect for Fall.

  • Gold Pendant Necklaces – These necklaces are so fun and easy to layer and mix and match. I just ordered a bar pendant necklace from Nordstrom and look forward to wearing it with some of my new Fall tops.

Beauty Favorites

Hi all! We are excited to share some of our go-to makeup and beauty products on this beautiful Monday morning. We both love products that look and feel natural but add a little glam to our daily beauty routine. Here’s six great products we are loving right now.

Amanda’s Picks:

1. Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with sunscreen – Living in the dessert I need a quality moisturizer and SPF is a must! I love how hydrating it feels without being too heavy.

2. Smashbox BE Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer in Creamy Pinkish – This is my go to summer lip color. It’s light and not sticky like some lip glosses.

3. Beauty Babe Brow Fixx in Blondie – I’m obsessed with full brows and use this brow gel daily to give my brows a little more shape. I received this brow gel from a makeup artist in Chicago while getting a makeup lesson. I like the mascara brush since it makes it easy to apply.

Meghan’s Picks:

4. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion-Original – I used to get so frustrated when my eyeshadow would crease and smudge only a couple hours after I applied it. Since discovering this product, my eyeshadow stays on exactly how I applied it. This is great to use before a day out in the sun or before going to work.

5. Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette – This is my everyday eyeshadow as it is very versatile and I love the neutral colors that are easy to dress down for work or dress up for a date or going out on the town. My favorite colors are Trick, Liar, and Mugshot. I also had the Naked 2 Eyeshadow Palette and am excited for new ones to come out since I like to switch up my daily eyeshadow from time to time.

6. up&up Cleansing Towelettes Makeup Remover (compare to Ponds Clean Sweep) – I don’t know about you, but I always look forward to taking my makeup off at the end of a long day. There is nothing like a clean, refreshed face before hitting the pillow and these wipes definitely do the trick! They have a fresh scent and take off all of your makeup so your face can breathe at night.

What are your favorite beauty products? Feel free to comment and let us know! We tend to get hooked on certain products and stay loyal to them, but are always looking to try new products as well.

Have a great week!
