Exciting News!

Happy, happy Monday!

A week ago today I received very exciting news… I was offered a position as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak! Of course, I accepted the position and I am SO excited to begin this new chapter in my career.

I had my labor and delivery clinical rotation on this same unit about three years ago and knew I wanted to work on this unit someday. Labor and delivery has been a passion of mine since I began my nursing education and my clinical at Beaumont confirmed that this speciality was the one for me. In clinical, I became very emotional during the first delivery I was a part of. I was able to see a beautiful couple become parents for the first time! I cannot believe I was get to help bring little lives into the world every time I go to work. The unit I will be working on has antepartum triage (in other words, where pregnant women can be treated for various medical conditions), delivery rooms, c-section operating rooms and recovery. I will be rotating between these areas and I am eager to begin learning and growing as a labor and delivery nurse. I am still in disbelief that my dreams are coming true!

Thank you to all my friends and family for believing in me and always supporting me. I am so grateful for all of the experiences I have had in the past year on my current unit. I have not only learned a ton, but have formed so many friendships that I truly value. I will miss all of my friends, but I wish them luck and I hope to keep in touch with them. Again, thank you everyone for the well wishes! I will keep you updated as I begin my new career (in the next month or two). Cheers to pursuing dreams and new adventures!
